I love an engagement session where a couple can just be comfortable with each other, even if they aren’t necessarily comfortable in front of the camera. (Don’t worry. I can make that part happen.) David and Megan were so unbelievable adorable during their spring Romare Bearden engagement session. The smiles and laughter were all real, and it was so much fun to get to photograph their joy!
Pretty sure I’ve said it before, but truly, the thing that can make the biggest difference in engagement photos is a couple’s ability to relax together. Legit 99% of my couples tell me they’re no photogenic, or they’re awkward in front of the camera. David and Megan said the same thing. My job is to direct and tell people what to do in front of the lens, which means the only part couples have to worry about is having fun with it- together.
David and Megan nailed it. (Also, due to a constant binging of Schitt’s Creek, it was quite difficult for me not to call him Day-Vid. iykyk) But truly, I don’t think these two stopped laughing together the whole time. It was so fun to be around, and it makes my job as easy as finding great light and creating the image.
After a fun spring afternoon with these two, I’m so excited for their December wedding in Winston-Salem! It’s coming up so soon, and I cannot wait! Enjoy a few favorites from their spring engagement session at Romare Bearden!
