It’s no secret that 2020 has held some less then pleasant times for so many people. While wedding planning can always have its stressors, this year held a whole different set of obstacles for couples planning their dream day. It’s never an easy decision to postpone a wedding, but Jon and Kelly did it so graciously in trying to keep all of their out of town friends and family healthy. But they knew they were ready to be husband and wife, and so they decided on a Charlotte elopement.
[if you missed their beautiful engagement session, make sure to check that out here!]
So on the most beautiful fall Friday in October, with their moms as witnesses, Jon and Kelly officially became husband and wife at Mecklenburg County Courthouse. I met them afterwards from some just married portraits around Uptown after their Charlotte elopement, and I loved seeing how happy the newest Mr. and Mrs. were. They then met up with some close family at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Charlotte for a small celebration.
If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that life is short, and it’s unpredictable. I’ve loved seeing so many couples embrace the simplicity of marriage and becoming husband and wife, no matter the change to their original plans. Though I will say, I’m for sure looking forward to their anniversary party next year at the Foundations of the Carolinas and getting to celebrate their marriage all over again!
Enjoy just a few favorites from this sweet Charlotte Elopement!
