I am so so glad that William and Virginia scheduled their engagement session so soon after booking me for their wedding, because I literally could not wait to shoot this couple! William proposed at the Duke Mansion, so it was so fitting to have their engagement session there!
I connected with Virginia over a year ago when I did my first ever styled shoot. Virginia worked for the stationary company we used, and they did such an amazing job! I’ve a little creepily been following along with her on Instagram and was so thrilled when she and William got engaged, and even more thrilled when she reached out about to me shooting their wedding!
We got so fortunate that the rain held off for as long as it did- the sky was so dark and it was thundering almost the whole time. But we got a good hour of shooting outside before the rain came. I brought some clear bubble umbrellas, though, and some of these rain shots are my favorites! Nobody wants rain on their wedding day or engagement session- and trust me, nobody loves good light more than I do! But just don’t underestimate how pretty rain photos can be!
I had such a fun time with William and Virginia! This couple is so beautiful and kind! I know William was not at all excited about being in front of the camera, ha, BUT I think he killed it. There aren’t too too many couples that you can say “just be cute!” and it turns out well (don’t worry, I didn’t do this!). But William and Virginia were one of those couples. My favorite shots are the candid ones where you can just feel joy and love and happiness, and I think we got SO many of those during this session!
