I don’t even know where to start with this Uptown elopement. I LOVED Joe + Jessica. Jessica originally reached out on Instagram, and I was immediately so excited to work with her. I could just tell how excited she was to marry Joe, and I loved that, COVID or not, they were planning just a simple elopement with family.
We were texting the night before and found out that we both grew up in Pennsylvania! Only a little bit away from each other, which is so crazy. We definitely took it a sign! The next morning, I met Jessica at the Ivey’s Hotel in Uptown, Charlotte. She was immediately so kind and welcoming, and it was truly like seeing an old friend even though we had never met. While photographing their rings, the florist came with her bouquet. She revealed that Jessica’s boss took a picture of Jessica’s grandmother and had it made into a charm to have put on her bouquet. HOW. SWEET. IS. THAT. Not only an incredibly sentimental gesture, but I think it says so much about Jessica that her boss would do that for her.
We then headed to Midtown Park for their mini Uptown elopement ceremony! It was only immediate family, and it was just the sweetest ceremony. Joe and Jessica wrote beautiful words to each other, and I will not lie- I teared up a bit behind the camera. But the way Joe was looking at her….oh my goooosh, it was so wonderful.
