This adventure engagement session in Boone/Linville is what dreams are made of! Kevin and Bethany are such a sweet couple, and I’m so honored to capture this season of life for them! It’s always an honor when someone asks you to document such a special time, but Bethany is also a photographer, and so it’s always a huge honor when someone who knows the ins and outs of what you do chooses you!
Kevin and Bethany are currently doing the long distance as Kevin is in Raleigh and Bethany is still here in Charlotte. With the pandemic and life right now, they haven’t been able to be around each other often. This means an engagement session came at the perfect time! Not just for the photos, but for them to be able to spend time together, unplug, and just cuddle up close for an hour and a half!
With Kevin being from the mountains, it was important to them to have that scenery included in their engagement photos. I’ve been wanting to shoot the beautiful mountain scenery for a while now, so I was stoked when Bethany mentioned it! It was also a way to try and get him excited about it, ha! Although to propose to Bethany, he asked her sister in law (also a photographer!) to ask them to model for a photo shoot. It was the perfect way to have someone there to document the big moment!
We started by a little meadow near Thunder Hill Overlook. This scenery is gorgeous, and this spot is pretty secluded, so it was a gorgeous into location! From there we headed to Rough Ridge on the Blue Ridge Parkway. This was definitely an adventure! The hike is for sure not fo the faint of heart. Kevin and Bethany (and her sister!) were such troopers through the whole thing, though. And speaking for everyone- the views and light were more than worth it! Enjoy some favorites from this adventurous session!
