Where to start. I won’t fully gush over this couple because I did that in Caroline’s bridal portrait post. But this couple is just really so sweet to me. I’ve gotten to know Caroline so so well. It’s truly the best feeling when clients become friends. I just really enjoyed their Winston-Salem wedding so much.
I also have learned that, while some photographers love details (and they’re definitely pretty), I love the emotions on a wedding day. The joy, the laughter, the tears, the grandparents holding hands during the ceremony, the mothers crying walking down the aisle- I love it all. And Hunter and Caroline’s wedding had so. much. emotion. It started during their rehearsal dinner where I was in tears during the speeches. And it didn’t lay up at all the next day. There was so much anticipation in this day, and seeing it all come to life made me so happy.
And as much as I just said I love the emotions, this day had no shortage of details. From the welcome package at my hotel to the stunning invitation suite, to the to-go cake boxes made for each guest. Caroline’s attention to detail shone on this day! She legit picked her perfume bottle based on the lid color matching her colors, and I love her for it. We started their day at Caroline’s church where she grew up in Winston-Salem. From there, we made our way to The Spring House in downtown Winston-Salem for the best night of dancing I’ve seen yet!
Each wedding is always so different, but what I loved so much about Hunter and Caroline’s wedding was how traditional it was. You just get so many moments you don’t get very often. Entering the church doors, pausing at the end of the aisle to straighten the train, organ music announcing her entrance, her brother lifting her blusher veil. It just fit them so well. The more traditional wedding also made me feel a lot more images in black and white. I don’t usually put this many photos in black and white. But they make emotions stand out more, and I just love the whole feeling of this wedding.
With that said- enjoy some favorites of Hunter and Caroline’s Winston Salem wedding!
