Rain, rain, go the HECK AWAY. Except if it’s going to rain, you definitely need a couple who’s as up to weather it (pun intended, obviously) as Chris and Mary were! And they chose downtown Salisbury, which is a) an adorable little downtown, and b) home to a phenomenal amount of covered locations that are perfect for rain. I loved it in the rain, so I can’t wait to go back and shoot there when it’s nice!
Chris and Mary are the absolute most adorable couple. To start with- they’re high school sweethearts. My parents were high school sweethearts, so I have a soft spot in my heart. They’ve been together coming up on 8 years now, and y’all. They’re just. So cute. Chris is currently in Raleigh for work while Mary is working in Huntersville, so they’ve been doing distance. My husband and I did distance our whole dating relationship, so I definitely feel for these two! It is not easy, but I know it’s making them THAT much more excited to be married!
You can just tell how comfortable they are together, how natural it is for them to be together. I loved that they chose downtown Salisbury. When Chris was in college, Mary used to pick him up from the train station downtown. I really enjoy when couples pick locations that are meaningful for them- it’s so fun hearing the stories behind this spot. Chris and Mary will also be getting married in downtown Salisbury, so it was a good chance for me to get to see what I’ll be working with next June ;). Needless to say, a cute downtown and an even cuter couple have me STOKED for June 2019!
Chris and Mary, thank you both so, so much for trooping through the rain! Loved how you both were able to smile through and dealing with me saying, “one more here!” Y’all are so sweet, and I’m so grateful to have been able to document this time for you! Your wedding in June is going to be BEAUTIFUL! (Y’all, Mary is a DIY/details goddess, and I cannot wait for all the details the wedding is going to have!) Only 7.5 more months of distance, y’all!
A Downtown Salisbury Engagement Session
Thank you, Salisbury, for having some really cute covered locations. If you have to shoot anywhere in the rain, it might as well be somewhere that offers adorable shelter!
Also, any photo with a clear bubble umbrella can’t be a bad photo. They could seriously make rainy days *almost* a favorite.
Y’all. This house. I don’t even know whose it was or what it was, but it was what dreams are made of. The creamy brick and the blue shutters and those lantern lights. Heart. Eyes.
Chris and Mary, I can’t wait to shoot your wedding in June! It’s going to be so stunning, and I am so so excited!!
If you’re curious what other sweet couples are making me excited for June 2019, make sure you check out Tanner and Madison’s engagement session, as well as Austin and Melissa’s!
